Matt Roberge founded Salt Lake City Bookkeeping in April of 2007.  After graduating from Bryant University in May of 2001 Matt started his accounting career in Boston.  One short year later he followed his heart out West to ski and never looked back.  Four years as a financial controller for a ski lodge in Alta and several hundred days of skiing later Salt Lake City Bookkeeping was launched.  Relying on his business experience and entrepreneurial instincts Matt started out into the business world on his own.

The company was originally founded to combat the "complications" of being a seasonal worker.  The vision of our company has always been to provide an excellent work/life balance.  Everyone that works for us has a very enjoyable life outside of the office.  Matt started the company with the vision that he could have a career where he could still do the things he enjoys most: skiing deep Utah powder and fly fishing all over the West.

When not in his office or yours you can find Matt skiing at Alta, fly fishing all over Montana, mountain biking, hiking and just enjoying his life.

Joe Mazur

Operations Manager

Joe joined Salt Lake City Bookkeeping at the end of 2009.  Joe attended Bryant University and immediately realized the benefits of a business school.  While receiving a degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Joe studied accounting, finance, marketing, management, corporate law, economics, computer information systems, and environmental science, just to name a few. After completing his degree in 2001, Joe began his business career working for an insurance company in Hartford as an Actuary Analyst.  While working for the major corporation, Joe was able to add 'real world' experience to his business education.

Joe's life always revolved around skiing, growing up in the Adirondacks planted the seed of loving the outdoors during all times of the year.  After spending most of his free time traveling to be in the outdoors of Vermont and New York, the natural decision was to move out west in the fall of 2002 to focus his passion and experience on skiing while still working and molding his career in a business environment.

While being able to ski 125+ days a season, Joe wore many hats at an Alta ski lodge both during the winter ski season and summer wedding season.  After a few seasons, he took over as the bookkeeper and financial controller.  With certain limitations presenting themselves, the next move was to join forces with Matt at Salt Lake City Bookkeeping.  Joe brings his strong accounting and bookkeeping background to the company while being able to add an analytical and budgeting aspect to the company's many services.

Being with Salt Lake City Bookkeeping has allowed the proper mix of both hard professional work and even harder playing.  Joe still manages to ski the Wasatch Mountains during the winter and spend the summer biking, climbing, playing soccer, and fishing.
