Have you ever accidentally ignored transactions in an upload to QuickBooks? Then later tried to upload the QBO (QuickBooks Importable file) again, only to have an error code pop up saying that they cannot be downloaded ever again? 

I have! Many times, while intending to batch add transactions, I have accidentally ignored/deleted all of them from bank feeds. This happened so often that one of our team members found a workaround for this common issue that is applicable to any version of QuickBooks Desktop with the Online Banking/Bank Feeds feature.

QuickBooks Tip: Downloading Transactions Into QuickBooks

Many different types of transactions can be downloaded into QuickBooks.  Some of the more common types of transactions that are downloaded by the typical QuickBooks user are credit card and bank transactions.  Setting up an account's activity for online download is not that difficult and I don't want to talk to much about it.  Online downloads can be set up through QuickBooks by clicking on the Online Banking button on the main toolbar; QuickBooks will then walk you through it.  You can also pull up an internet session with the account you want to link to QuickBooks for online download.  Most major banking and credit card institutions have a QuickBooks download area that is easy to find. 

What I want to focus on here is what type of downloading options are right for you and your business.  The two options are to download by statement or the most recent transactions.

The import feature in QuickBooks is something too many users do not take advantage of.  So much of the financial data of any business can be automatically imported into QuickBooks and that can save valuable time.  You may not even need that full time bookkeeper that you have (sorry to all you Monday - Friday 9 to 5ers but its true).
