Outsourcing your company's bookkeeping may not be the top priority, but maybe it should be.  There are many reasons why it's good for you and for the company, but one of the best reasons is to reduce stress.  According to Emily K. Porensky, PhD and assistant professor of psychology at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, stress is linked to all leading physical causes of death. She also noted that it is linked with the development of most major mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety.  In addition, a reduction in stress can greatly improve the amount of of your output in a week and the quality of the work finished.  In other words, you can keep your head on straight and accomplish more, better work.

The types of stress that can be reduced by simply trusting your bookkeeping system are outlined in the infographic below.  Search for how your current practices may be hindering your success and how you can alleviate these stressors just by reaching out.

  1. Get organized for tax time.  Filing late just causes headaches and maybe a fine.
  2. Put internal controls in place that ensure that no one is stealing.
  3. Keep financial information up-to-date so that financials can be accessed in order to make important financial decisions.
  4. A second pair of eyes on your work ensures it's correct.  CPAs are expensive, you don't want to pay them extra at year end.
  5. You don't have to worry about accounts receivable or payable.  You will always know they're right with a bookkeeper.
  6. Catching up on bookkeeping is confusing and it's easy to make a mistake that costs you thousands of dollars, along with some heartache along the way.
  7. If you're going to be on time with your taxes, may as well be on time with your payments, too, and never have to get a lecture from your vendors about cash management.
  8. Relieving time constraints allows you to focus on what matters most: your customers.  Grow your business and be happy doing what you love.

Considering the amount of stress you're probably under right now, you should consider letting professionals take care of the work.  Your co-workers, business associates, and especially your family will greatly appreciate having you back.
