Security: Accessing QuickBooks And Bank Info
The next major question we get is about access. How are we going to access QuickBooks and their financial activity? We always ask that clients host QuickBooks at their office on a dedicated accounting computer/server or that we use a QuickBooks Cloud Hosting Service. The reason for this is that the burden of access to a business's QuickBooks file should be on the bookkeeper, not the business. Ideally access is not a problem for either party. However, we believe that the access to your QuickBooks file and financial information should always be at the tips of your fingers.
The next concern is how we will access your banking, credit card and other financial information. We will only accept view only accountant access to your financial information. Your bookkeeper should never have access to move money or sign checks on your behalf. A major concern of yours should be to make sure that your bookkeeper is not stealing from you, and this is done by setting up the proper security for your accounts. Your financial institution should be able to give a user view only access and if they can't change banks.

I have always been trained never to say that we can do bookkeeping for anyone. The reason is that if I tell you that we do bookkeeping for anyone it makes you think of no one. Right? We do bookkeeping for small businesses that don't have the need for a full-time bookkeeper. We particularly enjoy working with small businesses that are in the range of 1-25 employees, but we will work with larger companies. Our bookkeeping team is extremely outdoors oriented, therefore we like working with people that enjoy the outdoors. We spend our free time skiing, mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking and rock climbing just to name a few activities.
